Happy first of May! And of course, happy Beltane! We’ve had such luck with the weather for three days now. On Monday we had a picnic by the seaside which is less than 10 minutes away by car. It was absolutely beautiful. We found a nice place where there was no wind, and we sat there on a cliff, drank our tea, ate our buns and watched the birds. It was lovely.
On Valborg it was over 25 degrees in the sun, so I took the squash plants and the sunflower plants outside to start hardening them off. With that temperature it wouldn’t make much of a difference for them.
Today it was just as warm and we could sit on the balcony in the sun well past six pm. It was so nice to feel the sun on my skin again. And I love hearing the birds sing and the slight whooshing of the breeze going through the trees. The plants were outside for several hours today too.
A new month has begun, so it is time evaluate April and make plans and preparations for May. I didn’t complete everything on my list in April, but I had knowingly made it a bit unattainable. Aim for the stars and reach the clouds, you know? Still, I did manage to do most of the things I’d intended to do, so I am happy with that. I finished many crochet projects, wrote about 35-40’000 words, started new sites, decluttered a lot and I read around seventy books.
I didn’t finish the courses I am taking but I am about half-way through both of them. I had thought it would be fun to finish both of them in April, but I later decided that it would be bad to rush through them. So in the end I decided to go at a slower pace and it was the right call.
May To Do’s
This week:
- Make cinnamon buns and freeze them.
- Buy and sell stocks to increase my savings.
- Bake brownies with beans and my homemade chocolate and freeze them individually.
- Make blueberry pie and freeze it in slices.
- Market my digital products and get more sales.
- Start accepting clients for distance healing and tarot readings.
- Start micro crocheting flowers.
- Mix resin and finish making the long list of jewellery designs that I have prepped.
- Sell my jewellery globally online.
- Score cheap Swedish cucumbers and make 6-8 months worth of cucumber pickles using my homemade ACV and other ingredients.
- Keep taking care of the seedlings and fertilise the perennials and annuals outside.
- Grow bean sprouts in oat milk containers.
The rest of the month:
- Reorganise pantry and plan how to use up more of the canned goods.
- Start harvesting green onions, leeks, garlic and onions.
- Finish all of the remaining socks.
- Finish two winter scarves (I am half-way through the first).
- Make more crochet hats.
- Sew a tanktop and a few pairs of underwear.
- Zero in on my courses and make them a priority.
- Start making tofu again.
- Continue with daily yoga.
- Take more walks.
- Have my bicycle adjusted and try it once more.
- As always, earn more and save more.
Still, there’s no pressure, no stress and what I don’t end up doing this month, I’ll do next month or the month after that. There are no deadlines, no boss or rules to answer to. Just my own goals and aspirations. I love living with nature and following nature’s cycles and our inner cycles. To get away from the glorification of being busy and being stressed has been one of the best decisions of my life.
How are you preparing for the new month?
